Emotions in companies are ubiquitous; they accompany individuals and teams in all of their endeavours. While we can ignore them, they will not disappear. Therefore we should try to understand and work with them instead.
For this reason, the fifth year of the inspiring conference series, Leadership for Life, introduced the following key topic: Passion and fear in business.
The uplifting atmosphere of the baroque hall of the Benedict monastery in Břevnov, Prague, along with the bells of the St. Markéta church, whose tolls dictated the rhythm of the conference, created a unique framework for a relaxed and joyful conference that included unplanned participant stand-ups about conquering fear and ended with a spontaneous circle discussion.
Conference experience and its emotional charge were enhanced by the time-proven combination of conference with a concert, this time in the form of a performance by the Brixi Academic Choir who sang songs about fear, passion and fearlessness.
At the end, one of the conference participants, a financial director of a big global corporation, observed: “I did not know that a conference does not have to only be serious and a bit boring. I not only had a good time today, and even sang a bit, but also became inspired as never before!”
Happily, this meeting was not the last one; we are looking forward to meeting everyone next year in June at the Břevnov Monastery again. We welcome all your ideas and suggestions about the theme and conception of next year’s conference!
